A collection agency is going to try to track you down any way they can within their legal limits. If you tell a collector not to call your employer, either verbally or in writing, they are not allowed to call them. A collection agency can’t call an employer to garnish your wages until they have a court order to do so. Check out the Federal Trade Commission website to better understand your rights with respect to collectors.
