Does more money mean more happiness?
Can money buy happiness? Apparently not. The Happy Planet Index scores countries “happiness” based on life expectancy, experienced well-being and ecological footprint, so we took those rankings and compared them with GDP PPP per capita, a close measure of average income. Our findings? Happiness has a lot more to do with people’s geographical position than their financial one — 10 of the top 15 happiest countries were located in Central or South American or the Caribbean. What’s more, almost all of them had fairly low or modest incomes. So who ranked where? Take a look.
